In 1990, Jack was credited with creating the first scratch off recognition system for safety. Scratch Safe® quickly became a national success and changed the way that employees were recognized for safety performance from that time forward. Today, there has been an astounding 1,500,000 employees participate in the program.

Shortly after the launch of Scratch Safe®‚ Jack realized that reducing accident frequency and severity is the result of an integrated combination of efforts such as training, awareness, and then recognition. The reason incentives and recognition are an integral part of safety programs is that they effectively secure an employee’s attention to management’s goals. A well-designed recognition program encourages and rewards positive safety-related behavior. From that ideology spawned a revolution in the ability to create impactful training posters and graphics with our cutting edge Power Tools™ for Safety awareness programs.

Today, his programs currently impact 400,000 employees on a daily basis. His award winning programs have created dynamic, sustained results while saving America’s largest employers an estimated $185,000,000 in incurred costs.

Jack has been married to Cathy Edgington for 19 blissful years. They have 2 wonderful boys and reside in Coppell, Texas. His primary interest is spending time with his family. He actively coaches baseball and soccer, with an absolute passion for developing the youth of his community. Beyond that, his personal interests also include all forms of cycling, including Mountain Biking and Motocross and Mototrials.
